The human immunodeficiency virus is commonly called HIV which causes infection and destroys human immune system. The advanced stage of this disease is the deficiency in the human’s immune system. When the immune system is destroyed it causes various infections and cancers. It particularly attacks the T cells in the human body.

Though the virus attacks the T cells it increases mainly in lymph nodes. The lymph nodes are an important part in human immune system. At the early stage of the disease the lymph nodes has more infected cells than in the blood.

Energy loss, weight loss, fever, veginal infections, long lasting diarrhea are some of the symptoms of HIV. Discolored growth on the skin or mouth could be found in the patient’s body. The patients feel severe pain in feet and in muscles due to loss of strength. The HIV affected children may grow gradually and often fall sick.
